Meet the City Leader:
Hilary Montijo
My name is Hillary Montijo and right now I am a part time Psychology Instructor at Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama. I absolutely adore my job teaching psychology, it has helped me grow as a person in so many ways I can't even begin to tell you them all!
I graduated from Auburn University in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Adult Development & a Minor in Social Work. After Auburn, I attended Troy University in Dothan for graduate School and finished in 2014 with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health. I started "The Smart Lioness" . And I chose The Smart Lioness because the Lioness is one of the strongest females in the wild. Not only does she protect herself and her family but she also loves and protects her Pride of Lionesses. I thought that that was the perfect metaphor for what I want to create for women today. A community of women who are connected to each other, support & encourage each other and who work together to change their communities around them. And I am by no means perfect, or have it all figured out, but The Smart Lioness is what fuels my desire to create change for women who deserve it, including myself.
