🚨📚 THE AUTHOR IS COMING TO BOOK CLUBBBBBB! 📚🚨
Like, excuse us?!?! For our very first VIRTUAL BOOK CLUB, we’ll be joined LIVE by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau, author of We Would Never Tell! Eeeeeeeee! 💕✨
This isn’t just a “read the book and discuss among ourselves” kind of night. We get to chat with the woman who actually wrote it—ask our burning questions, hear the stories behind the story, and get all the delicious little details straight from the source. 👀🥂
And GIRL…the book she’s bringing us?!
Gowns. Champagne. Murder.
It’s the Cannes Film Festival: red carpets, Riviera sunshine, impossible-to-get invitations, and three ambitious women desperate to finally be seen. Then a multi-million-dollar necklace vanishes…and a body is discovered floating in the Mediterranean.
It’s Hollywood but make it French, glamorous, gossipy, deliciously dark, and packed with questionable choices we absolutely need to unpack with the author herself. 💋🔪
Because Anne-Sophie is joining us for this extra-special event, there will be no September book vote—We Would Never Tell is officially our September selection! 💗
Grab your copy, get reading, pour something bubbly, and start writing down every question you want to ask because HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET TO GO TO BOOK CLUB WITH THE ACTUAL AUTHOR?! 📖✨
Our first virtual book club is rolling out the red carpet, and you absolutely do not want to miss it. Eeeeeeee—we cannot WAIT! 🥂💕
💕 A Little Heart Behind the Way We RSVP at GTB
Every GTB gathering is thoughtfully dreamed up and organized by one of our incredible hosts, who pours so much time, intention, and care into creating a space where women can walk in alone and leave feeling a little less alone. Official RSVPs give our hosts the accurate details they need to plan each gathering with excellence and care.
Across GTB, the platforms and programs we use to manage RSVPs, communicate event details, and keep this big, beautiful community connected come with ongoing processing fees. Our standard $3 RSVP contribution helps us responsibly cover those shared costs and remain good stewards of the tools and resources that make gathering possible.
But our hearts burn for keeping community accessible because finances should never keep a gal from finding her people. And that’s the beautiful thing about real community: we all get to help create it, care for it, and carry it together. 🫶
Choose the RSVP that fits your season: $3 helps support our shared platform and processing costs, $6 adds a little extra to help sponsor another gal’s RSVP, or choose the $0 community-sponsored option if that’s what allows you to join us.
Every option comes with the exact same seat, the exact same welcome, and absolutely zero explanation needed. Some seasons, we get to pour a little extra into the community pot. Other seasons, we let the community pour into us.
Both are beautiful. Both are belonging. That’s how we make sure there is always a seat at the table. 🫶✨

We just wrapped our very first round of Gals That Grow and trulyyy… we loved it so much. 🥹💛
There was something really special about gathering with women who are all in a season of wanting to grow, reflect, and become more intentional, together. It felt grounding, honest, encouraging, and exactly like the kind of space we want more of.
So yes, babe… Gals That Grow is officially coming back this fall! 📚✨
And if there’s anything life and honestly, the culture around us—is showing us right now, it’s that things can change in an instantttt. Careers shift. Relationships change. Opportunities appear. Plans unravel. Doors open that we never even knew to knock on. The life we pictured five years ago may no longer fit the woman we’re becoming—and that doesn’t mean we’ve failed. It might simply mean it’s time to get curious again.
That’s exactly why we chose Designing Your Life for our next four-week series.
Written by two Stanford design professors, this book takes the creative problem-solving tools designers use to build and improve products and applies them to something a little more personal: building a life that feels meaningful, joyful, and genuinely yours.
This isn’t a book about creating one perfectly polished five-year plan and then forcing your life to follow it. It’s about learning how to move forward when you’re unsure, uncover what actually gives you energy, reframe the stories and “shoulds” keeping you stuck, and explore more than one beautiful version of what your future could become.
Because there isn’t only one right career, one right calling, or one tiny path you must discover before it’s too late. You’re allowed to experiment. You’re allowed to pivot. You’re allowed to outgrow an old dream, imagine a new one, and take small steps toward it before you have every single detail figured out.
Together, we’ll explore how to:
✨ define what a well-lived, joyful life actually means to you
✨ notice the people, places, and experiences that make you feel most alive
✨ identify the beliefs, expectations, and “shoulds” keeping you stuck
✨ reframe problems so you can see possibilities you may have been missing
✨ imagine multiple versions of your future instead of putting all the pressure on one perfect plan
✨ test-drive new ideas through small, low-risk experiments before making a giant leap
✨ build more courage, curiosity, and trust for life’s inevitable pivots
And honestly, we chose this book because these are not questions women should have to wrestle through alone. Sometimes we need a table full of gals to help us recognize what we can’t yet see in ourselves, to remind us that changing direction isn’t failure, uncertainty isn’t a dead end, and we’re not behind just because our lives look different than we thought they would.
Think meaningful conversations, gentle accountability, practical exercises, cozy snacks, and a room full of gals reminding you that you’re allowed to change your mind, try something new, and intentionally design a life that actually feels like yours.
Your RSVP includes all four gatherings, your Gals That Grow companion workbook, and weekly snacks. The book is purchased separately, so grab your copy now and get a little head start before we kick things off!

Gals That Read: South County | PARK PICNIC + BOOK SWAP 📚🧺✨
Okay friends, we’re mixing it up this month, because SD local’s summer deserves her moment too. ☀️
We normally gather around the 3rd or 4th Monday of the month, but this time we’re trading our usual weeknight book club for a Saturday afternoon picnic in Coronado because… we live in San Diego, babyyyy. We might as well take advantage of the sunshine, the park, the ocean breeze and one more little taste of summer while we can. 🌴✨
This month, Gals That Read: South County is meeting at Spreckels Park in Coronado for a cozy afternoon of books, snacks, blankets and a little adventure.
Our September read is:
📖 The Marriage Portrait
by Maggie O’Farrell
Bring something yummy to share: chips + dip, baked goods, snacks, whatever feels easy and we’ll have cold drinks covered. Don’t forget a blanket, picnic chair or something comfy to sit on while we chat all things bookish under the trees.
AND because one book is never enough… we’re adding a little book swap. 📚✨ Bring along any books sitting on your shelf that you’d love to rehome, and feel free to leave with 1–2 new-to-you reads.
Then, we’re going on a tiny field trip. 👀
The Coronado Public Library is right across the street, so after book club we’ll have the option to wander over together, explore their seriously impressive collection and even sign up for a library card if you’d like.
And start thinking spooky… because October is all things spooky reads. 👻📖 Bring your best recommendations because choosing next month’s book is going to be FUN.
Come for the book. Stay for the picnic, the swaps, the sunshine + the little library adventure. 🤍
